Here’s what to look forward to on TV and Mediacorp’s digital platforms this National Day season.

The Gardens by the Bay and Mediacorp National Day Concert 2024 will feature a lineup of homegrown artists. Beyond the annual National Day Message and Parade, there’s also a lineup of celebratory content that will be available across Mediacorp ’s network.

On free-to-air TV, you can tune in to Channel 5 at 9.30pm, Channel 8 at 8.45pm, Channel U at 11.30pm, Suria at 8.30pm, Vasantham at 9pm and CNA at 6.45pm. For the first time, a segment will involve contingents advancing onto the spectator stands. Another debuting segment is the Total Defence 40 Dynamic Defence display “Together, We Are Strong”, which will showcase integrated responses to threats through coordinated displays between the Padang and Marina Bay.

Themed “Our Home, Our Heart, Our Singapore”, the concert will feature performances by homegrown artistes including Olivia Ong, Shabir, Yung Raja, Taufik Batisah, Sezairi and Benjamin Kheng. The episode will also feature a sneak peek into the highly anticipated Chinese drama Emerald Hill, showcasing actress Seow Sin Nee learning the Javanese dance Ronggeng and later performing the dance during the filming of the drama.Malay series Detik Khas will present a special episode exploring the stories behind streets named after notable figures in the Malay and Muslim community, and their contributions to Singapore’s multicultural heritage.
