JOHOR BARU: The term 'Muafakat itu Berkat' (Consensus is a Blessing) should not remain just a slogan but become the credo of all Johoreans who love peace and harmony, says Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal.

Johor Tourism, Women, Family and Community Development Committee chairman Liow Cai Tung at the Chinese New Year Celebration at Wisma Tiong Hua Johor Baru, here on Saturday .

The Johor Mentri Besar added that those who hold on to the spirit of"Bangsa Johor" should also celebrate this year's Chinese New Year together as it is not only a celebration for the Chinese community, but also a celebration of the country’s unique traits. “This should be the treasure that we pass on to our next generation, and we must hold on to it and instill the values of respect and tolerance in our children so that Johor would continue to prosper in the future, ” he said.

Dr Sahruddin added that the state government also needs the full support of the people to continue to conduct improvement that would give benefit to the people through state development.
