CEBUANO Roger Pogoy, one of the country’s finest basketball players, will not be seeing action in the upcoming PBA Commissioner’s Cup after he was diagnosed with a rare heart condition called myocarditis.
The development, which was first reported by Richard Dy of the Manila Times, came as a shock to Pogoy’s fans and teammates, who were eagerly anticipating his return to the court after representing the Philippines in the 2023 Fiba World Cup.According to the website of the Mayo Clinic, myocarditis is an inflammation of the heart muscle that can affect its ability to pump blood and cause various symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath and fatigue.
