The Central Crossing School Board (CCS) has restricted embattled board member Simmons' access to district buildings following the revelation of recorded phone calls between him and others. The recordings, obtained by the state auditor's office, have fueled further controversy within the district, raising concerns among parents about the board's focus on student education.

According to a resolution and censure document, the board restricted Simmons' access to district buildings and required him to have a security escort before coming onto CCS property.from the state auditor's office between Simmons, who recorded the calls, andnew details about a document scandal that rocked the district over the summer.

"They are not focusing on our children," CCS parent Susan Cavendish said. "It’s eating up so much of their time that should be spent elsewhere." Last week, the state report cards were released. CCS received two out of five stars for the second year in a row.
