The previously-agreed-to deals for Caris LeVert, Max Strus, Georges Niang and Ty Jerome were announced Thursday evening -- the first day free agency signings could be made official.
Re-signing LeVert -- a 6-foot-6 swingman who will turn 29 years old in August -- was Cleveland’s top priority this summer. Even though the two sides were unable to finalize an extension ahead of free agency, a financial compromise was found quickly, keeping LeVert under contract until 2025.
“That’s something I definitely want to do,” LeVert said when asked about the possibility of staying. “I definitely want to be a part of this culture, be a part of this team. This is a super special group and I definitely want to be a part of that. But you all know it’s a business, so we’ll see what happens this summer. I would love to come back.”Strus is the headliner of Cleveland’s five-player class.
This past season in Philly, Niang appeared in a career-high 78 games, averaging 8.2 points and 2.4 rebounds in 19.4 minutes while shooting 40.1% from deep.
