Caufield, Sendrowski navigate Indian Hills in thrilling road win over Westwood

Owen Caufield threw out the tying run to end the game and scored the contest's only run to steer Indian Hills to a 1-0 win vs. Westwood.

However, in a highly-anticipated game in the Big North Conference, Owen Caufield stepped up one more time for Indian Hills.

Westwood’s Joe Cerritelli laced a single to right-center field, but Caufield tracked it down perfectly. He fielded the bouncer, then fired a rocket to third base to nab Westwood at the bag, ending the game in a 1-0 victory on Monday in Westwood.“That was a huge play. I saw Owen come up super ready for a throw, then one-hopped it nicely to third base. We were in awe, such a beautiful throw,” Indian Hills’ Nick Sendrowski said.

“Whatever my role is, I want to serve my purpose. I’ll hit wherever the coaches want me to hit,” Sendrowski said.Indian Hills and Westwood each hail from the NJSIAA North 1, Group 2 section. “There was definitely a heightened atmosphere. These are two great teams and I feel like it was a playoff game,” Caufield said.
