Richard Leder says he believes his lucrative church clients will follow him to his new firm after Corrs sensationally dropped them as a client for child abuse work last July.

While Corrs was keen to keep the church on board for non-abuse-related work, the institution jumped ship and took millions of dollars ofBut Mr Leder, who has moved just one street away from Corrs to join Wotton + Kearney as a senior partner in its Bourke Street, Melbourne, office said the growing commercial firm was “undoubtedly a natural home” for those clients.
“I feel in part I still have unfinished business, that there’s still more work to be done. It’s not easy and it’s not always enjoyable, but it is productive and at the end of the day, feeling that you are working on the solution, on the outcome, brings satisfaction.
Mr Kearney said he was also “incredibly excited” to sign on Mr Leder because he would turbocharge Wotton + Kearney’s expansion of its commercial litigation practice, with the recruitment of Ms Austin and former King + Wood Mallesons litigator Amanda Beattie also “adding to [its] bench strength”.
