A Chinese woman's resignation letter was unexpectedly submitted when her cat accidentally pressed the 'enter' key while she was browsing on her laptop. The incident, captured on home surveillance, quickly went viral on Douyin, sparking amusement and humor among netizens.
A cat owner in Chongqing, China , has shared a hilarious incident of her pet cat accidentally sending her resignation letter. The short four-second clip was captured on a home surveillance camera on 5 January, showing the owner, a young woman sitting in front of her laptop, while browsing through her phone. Her cat then leapt from behind the screen and landed directly onto the keyboard, prompting the woman to hastily remove the cat's paws from the keys.
The video was later posted on Douyin, where the young woman explained that she had drafted her resignation letter in her email but was reluctant to send it. 'How big a disaster can a cat cause? I wrote a resignation letter at the end of the year but I didn't want to send it first, thinking that I might want to stay another year. But ultimately, my cat pressed the 'enter' key,' the caption read. The woman, who loves rescuing stray cats, explained that she was hesitant to resign from her company because of financial concerns. 'Cat food is expensive,' she said, reported in Zaoka News. And while she was hesitating, her feline companion took matters into its own paws and sealed her fate with a single, accidental keystroke. The woman lost her job and a big year-end bonus She explained the situation to her boss, who simply ignored her. 'Not only did he ignore me,' she shared, 'but my year-end bonus is also gone.' Despite the financial setback, she still had a good sense of humour, adding, 'Give me a big one in 2025!' The video has sparked a wave of amusement and humour from netizens, with many praising the cat's 'helpful' intervention 'Am I in trouble?' - the cat, probably. Netizens were quick to chime in with their own humorous takes on the feline's intervention. 'Cat: What's wrong, mum? Am I not the most considerate and sensible kitten?' one user joked, imagining the cat's innocent perspective. Another commenter added a playful twist:'Cat: I sent it for you, but you are not happy about it,' accompanied by a humorous meme.
