A loose adaptation of the book, Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror by Steve Alten, the film follows a group of scientists who encounter a 75-foot-long Megalodon shark while on a rescue mission to save a trapped research station called the Mana.
Cliff Curtis As Mac Cliff Curtis plays James "Mac" Mackreides, the managing researcher of the Mana. Curtis's first feature film role was a small part, ironically named Mana, in Jane Campion's The Piano, but he first came to prominence with the New Zealand drama film, One Were Warriors, in which he starred alongside Temuera Morrison. He has also appeared in various critically acclaimed films like Three Kings, Training Day, Whale Rider, Sunshine, and Doctor Sleep.
Ruby Rose As Jaxx Ruby Rose plays Jaxx, an engineer working aboard the Mana. Rose began her career as a presenter on MTV Australia and as a high-profile model before pursuing a career in acting. She made her acting debut as Hannah in the film Around the Block, but she quickly received wide attention when she starred in season 3 of Orange Is The New Black as Stella Carlin.
