Hugo Contreras, a Carpentersville resident convicted of sexually assaulting two underage victims for six years, is being sought on an arrest warrant after skipping bail during his bench trial.
A Carpentersville man who skipped bail by failing to attend the second day of his bench trial has been found guilty of child sex assault charges.
Authorities learned of the situation when the older victim told a school counselor, a Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office news release said. When police came to Contreras’ house to arrest him, two officers received minor injuries when he fought with them.Contreras was released on $25,000 bond in April 2018 and attended the first day of his trial on March 21, the release said. When he didn’t appear the following day, Kliment issued a warrant for his arrest.
