The former ABC News journalist believes she would’ve been more “formidable” if she spoken about her experiences covering wars and refugee crises.
Former reality star and journalist, Carole Radziwill says she dumbed herself down for the cameras as a cast member of the “The Real Houswives of New York City.” And she says she regrets it.
“My one little regret is I did make myself smaller to be on the show,” she revealed in a new cover story with The Mountains magazine. The former documentarian and ABC News journalist, who married into the Kennedy clan, said she wished, when conversation permitted, she would’ve mentioned that “I was in Afghanistan during the war… I was in the Gulf War… I used to spend a lot of time in refugee camps in Cambodia.”Radziwill avoided topics like her time in the Gulf War in order to fit in on the show.“I think I would’ve been considered much more formidable… But, in the end, I didn’t want to show off,” she said.
Radziwill confessed that she’d never watched the show before joining the cast. And, she added, “I’d never been around women who would talk like they talked or drank like they drank.”NBCU Photo Bank/NBCUniversal via Getty Imagesand Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, whom she described as “the equivalent of what they now call a girl’s girl.”Radziwill, a former ABC News journalist, appeared on “The Real Housewives of New York City” for five seasons.
“I’d go on a girls trip with the coolest, most fun chick from each city, but I don’t know who that is because I don’t watch ‘Housewives,'” she concluded.
