Carlos Yulo finally rediscovered his form after qualifying in the final of the floor exercise of the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup Series at the Aspire Dome in Doha, Qatar Wednesday, March 1.

Carlos Yulo books a spot in the final of the floor exercise in the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup Series in Doha, Qatar.

The diminutive, high-flying Tokyo Olympian displayed his usual flawless routine and came in second in the qualification with 14.500, just 0.100 behind eventual top qualifier Artem Dolgopyat of Israel.Other qualifiers include Great Britain’s Luke Whitehouse , Japan’s Kazuki Minami and Takaaki Sugino , Sweden’s Kim Vanstrom , Turkey’s Adem Asil and Spain’s Nicolau Mir . with a score of 12.733. in the apparatus. He scored 14.166 following a 5.700 degree of difficulty and 8.466 in execution.

Yulo and Besana continued to campaign for more final berths in the remaining apparatus in horizontal bar, vault and parallel bars. This is the second leg of the World Series with the first leg concluding only last week in Cottbus, Germany. In that leg, Yulo failed to progress in his pet event, floor exercise, but managed a bronze medal in the parallel bars.
