Carlisle Area School District considers closing two elementary schools as part of restructuring plansThe superintendent at Carlisle School District announced two of the proposed plans to restructure grades K-8 at Thursday night’s school board meeting.
The plans to restructure the elementary and middle school students came after concerns about the future capacity of the middle schools. Enrollment data from 2004 to the end of last school year shows that four of the elementary schools are already at over 90% capacity and the school says they are expecting the northern part to increase in enrollment while the southern part will decrease.
As of now, there is no cost estimate for this plan, but the school says it could be just as expensive or more expensive than the other options.
