.CarlDeMaio applauds the Board of Supervisors for voting for a special election, but points out one can only be called if NathanFletcher actually resigns. Fletcher is set to resign on May 15, but DeMaio is not expecting him to follow through.
SAN DIEGO – Tuesday, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors has voted 4-0 to advance a resolution, which will be presented at the board’s May 23 meeting, calling for special election on Aug. 15 to fill the District 4 supervisors’ seat being vacated by Nathan Fletcher in a little less than two weeks.But in order for the special election to happen, Nathan Fletcher has to actually resign on May 15th like he says he will.
Chairman of Reform California, Carl DeMaio, isn’t taking Fletcher’s word at face value, as he says Fletcher is a “liar.” DeMaio also applauded the Board of Supervisors for voting in favor of a special election instead of appointing their preferred candidate.
