A gunman demanded Sammy Sasso’s blue Chevy Malibu prior to opening fire, police said.

A police incident report, obtained by, said child witnesses reported Sasso had run over a rat. The children went over and began talking with Sasso once he stopped his car, police said.

Sasso underwent surgery after the shooting and again on Saturday at Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center.
