A 37-year-old canteen worker in Malaysia was arrested after a viral CCTV video showed her slapping her child multiple times, causing the child to fall and hit their head outside a supermarket. The incident occurred in Jejawi, Perlis, and the suspect was apprehended near Mata Ayer. The child sustained an injury to the right eyebrow and received treatment. The case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.

A 37-year-old canteen worker got arrested after CCTV footage went viral, showing her slapping her child a few times, causing the kid to fall on the ground outside a supermarket.

Harian Metro reported how the police arrested her near Mata Ayer after she was accused of hitting and hurting her child in the supermarket’s front corridor in Jejawi, Perlis.Arau District Police Chief, Superintendent Ahmad Mohsin Md Rodi, said that they received a report around 12:16 AM today regarding the woman’s actions.

“The viral video shows the suspect hitting the back of a young girl’s head, causing her to hit the corner of a bench and bleed,” he explained. He also added that the incident is suspected to have occurred in front of the sidewalk of the supermarket in Jejawi, Arau, and the suspect will be brought to court for remand to assist in the investigation.Mohsin added that the victim’s 4-year-old child had an injury on the right eyebrow and had already received follow-up treatment after the incident.You can watch the full video down below:What are your thoughts on this?
