Unlike most of their wins where they led the opposition from start to finish, the La Salle Lady Spikers had to rally from behind to hurdle past the Adamson Lady Falcons on Wednesday, April 19, in the UAAP Season 85 women's volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena.
While that might not be an ideal way to score a victory since it squeezed out every ounce of energy from the team to recover from a 1-2 deficit after three sets, Angel Canino said that game was actually good for the Lady Spikers because it showed their 'true character.'Canino and the Lady Spikers' mettle was tested to hilt as they eked out a 25-17, 25-27, 23-25, 25-23, 15-9 victory against the Lady Falcons.
The 5-foot-11 outside spiker, who scored seven of her total points in the fifth set, also logged 19 excellent receptions.The same thing actually happened in the first round when she also started slow and ended with 21 points in a 22-25, 25-14, 25-16, 25-19 triumph against Adamson.'Just like in our first round encounter, I told myself to forget about what happened and focus in the present.
