Hopefully, there’ll be a favourable outcome for her in her case.
A 65-year-old woman in Sarawak couldn’t access cancer treatments for herself after her MyKad was seized by the Lawas district National Registration Department office.
Lina, who is from the Lun Bawang group, was told by the officer there that her MyKad was seized based on orders of the “boss.” Lina has been living without her MyKad since November 2022 and it was difficult. She has been denied medical attention at hospitals and clinics. This also meant that she had to miss most of her colon cancer treatments and she fears it’ll worsen her condition.Parti Bangsa Malaysia’s Agnes Padan has been trying to get Lina’s MyKad back from the NRD, but has been unsuccessful.
