Advertisement The visit aimed to strengthen strategic cooperation between PPKS and the Sabah State Government and to discuss the implementation and launch of the Jejak Kanser 2026 Programme, scheduled for March 28, at Dewan Masyarakat Ranau. During the meeting, PPKS presented a report on the implementation of the Jejak Kanser Programme, which was introduced in March 2025. According to Daipah, 16 programmes have been successfully conducted across several districts in Sabah, receiving an encouraging response from local communities. She added that the programme focuses on the early detection of breast and cervical cancers and provides health screenings and awareness talks on the dangers and prevention of cancer. Advertisement Daipah said one initiative that drew attention from participants was the Smokerlyzer test, which measures carbon monoxide levels in the lungs to assess an individual’s exposure to cigarette smoke. This initiative is seen as effective in raising public awareness of the risks of smoking and the importance of maintaining lung health. Advertisement She also said the launch of Jejak Kanser 2026 would provide a platform to expand the programme’s reach to more rural areas. Jejak Kanser 2026, expected to be officiated by Joachim, aligns with efforts to increase public awareness of the importance of early cancer detection and the practice of a healthy lifestyle. Meanwhile, Joachim expressed his full support for PPKS’s efforts in promoting public health awareness in Sabah. He stated that early detection is a key factor in improving cancer patient survival rates and reducing treatment burdens at advanced stages. He encouraged the public to participate in health screening programmes organised for the wellbeing of themselves and their families.
