Cancel Singaporean black metal band’s Easter gig, churches urge

Devouror, a five-piece black metal band, was signed by Malaysian Metal Zone Records and debuted its EP last January titled Slay the Satan. – April 15, 2019.

THE Malaysian Council of Churches wants Putrajaya to pull the brakes on a Singaporean black metal band’s concert here on Easter Day. Its general secretary, Reverend Dr Hermen Shastri, said the live performance by Devouror is considered an affront to Malaysian Christians, given that their show will be held during one of the holiest days in the Christian calendar.
