OTTAWA — Canada's top doctor is warning an eventual Covid-19 vaccine will be no "silver bullet," and the public should brace for another two to three years of health precautions.
Dr. Howard Njoo, Tam's deputy, added it's important to "temper people’s expectations" that a vaccine will ensure everything will return to normal quickly.Tam's warning is directed at a country that has shown more success than the United States in bringing the spread of the virus under control. She said Canada has reported 117,031 cases, including 8,947 deaths. Nearly 4.2 million people have been tested, and 87 percent of those who contracted the virus have recovered..
