Items from China sold online such as toys, shoes and pencil casings found to contain high levels of hazardous substances that pose health risks
President Mohideen Abdul Kader said CAP was making the call in response to recent findings by the Seoul City government, which revealed that children’s products sold through the platform contained high levels of toxic chemicals. Exposure to high amounts of it is detrimental to the reproductive, neurological, and developmental systems of humans, with children being even more vulnerable.
“This problem extends beyond toys to items such as pencil casings, dolls, and toy cars, all of which are likely to contain high levels of these hazardous substances,” he said.
