California Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom said migrants were flown from another state to Sacramento and left on the doorstep of a local church without advance warning.
California Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom and state Attorney General Rob Bonta announced Saturday an investigation into theat a church in Sacramento to determine if kidnapping or other crimes were committed.
The governor said the migrant arrivals would be investigated to find out who is responsible for their transportation and to determine any criminal wrongdoing. "We are investigating the circumstances by which these individuals were brought to California," he said."We are also evaluating potential criminal or civil action against those who transported or arranged for the transport of these vulnerable immigrants. While this is still under investigation, we can confirm these individuals were in possession of documentation purporting to be from the government of the State of Florida.
