Caldwell debuts 55 and up Chambers Creek community in 'Montgomery Hill Country' in Willis
A vineyard and golf course are among the amenities at Chambers Creek, an active adult community by Caldwell Communities in Willis.Fifty miles north of Houston, Caldwell Communities is unveiling the transformation of a former cattle ranch into the Chambers Creek community, one of the largest residential developments designed for ages 55 and up in Texas.
Caldwell Communities will hold a grand opening of the gated and guarded community on Saturday, Nov. 12, from noon to five.The setting features rolling hills and hardwoods and old style architecture using board and batten in the design "Everything is designed around the notion that people are going to commute around some type of electric vehicle versus a traditional car," Caldwell said.
Active adult communities are designed to appeal to empty nesters and retirees in the huge baby boomer demographic. Baby boomers, who were born in the post-World War II era from 1946 to 1964 account for 21.2 percent of the population, nation's second largest demographic group behind millennials, according to market research firm Statista.
