“To see those former players on the sideline, like, I got a chance to reflect with guys that—wow—that I fought with, trained with, I’m talking about a lot of good memories,” Auburn interim coach Cadillac Williams said.
On a night full of memorable and personally meaningful moments for Williams, the presence of many of his former teammates topped the list.
Among the many former Auburn players in attendance Saturday were, of course, Jason Campbell and Ronnie Brown, who are part of Auburn’s radio crew. There was also Carlos Rogers, Devin Aromashodu, Ben Obomanu, Marcus McNeil, Wesley Hill, Cooper Wallace, Andrew Letts, Jonathan Palmer, Brandon Cox, Antarrious Williams and Will Herring, just to name a few.
The show of support was overwhelming for Williams, who hasn’t shied away from the range of emotions he has experienced in the two weeks since being named interim coach.
“Man. It meant everything, because what made me come to Auburn is really the true family aspect of everything,” defensive lineman Marquis Burks said. “To see everybody coming back, everybody unified, it was big.”
