: Cadangan kenaikan harga siling beras putih tempatan dijangka dimuktamad sebelum Oktober tahun ini, kata Menteri Pertanian dan Keterjaminan Makanan Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu.
“Sebelum Oktober. Tidak lama dah. masih di peringkat perbincangan dan sebarang perubahan harga dan sebagainya itu perbincangannya melibatkan empat hingga lima kementerian. Pada November tahun lepas, Badan Kawal Selia Padi dan Beras mendapati harga siling BPT wajar dinaikkan kepada RM3.20 sekilogram berbanding RM2.60 sekilogram ketika ini.
Mengenai kes jangkitan selesema burung di luar negara akibat terdedah kepada lembu yang dijangkiti, beliau berkata Jabatan Perkhidmatan Veterinar memantau rapi kemasukan bekalan makanan ke negara ini .
