The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia has issued a reminder against flying drones without prior approval during National Day celebrations and parades between Aug 26 and Aug 31., CAAM states that the prohibition is intended to ensure that preparations for Merdeka festivities can be carried out safely, without any unwanted incidents threatening the public’s wellbeing.
The restriction also intends to prevent accidents involving aircrafts from the Royal Malaysian Air Force , Royal Malaysia Police , and the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia , which will be carrying out training and air shows at low altitudes in various locations nationwide during the stated period.
“CAAM would like to remind that any aviation activity, including drone operations that pose risks or dangers to the public or property, is subject to Section 4 of the Civil Aviation Act 1969 ; Regulations 98, Regulations 140-144, the Civil Aviation Regulations 2016, and the Civil Aviation Directives ,” the post reads.
