A total of 1,644 people died, 3,408 were injured, and 139 remained missing in a powerful earthquake in Myanmar, Xinhua reported, quoting the Information Team of the State Administration Council on Saturday night.
KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested a businessman with the title" Tan Sri " for allegedly scamming the public out of RM10mil under the pretence of handing the money over to the police to resolve money laundering cases.
"So far, the suspect has collected about RM10mil from victims. Initially, he had allegedly demanded RM25mil, claiming he had close ties with the police and could help resolve their cases. Authorities had been monitoring the suspect's activities, and the AMLA team launched an intelligence operation that led to his arrest Saturday evening.
