Bukit Aman records statement from Azam Baki over two cases

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on oversight of artificial intelligence Tuesday, less than two weeks after postponing a White House ceremony over his concerns that a similar policy could dull America's technological edge.

PETALING JAYA: Bukit Aman has recorded statements from former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki for two cases. Criminal Investigation Department director Comm Datuk M. Kumar said that the former MACC chief had been called in for statements on the alleged threat against businessman Albert Tei and for a Bloomberg article regarding share ownership with Velocity Capital Partner Berhad.

"Both investigation papers will be referred to the Attorney General’s Chambers in accordance with Article 145 of the Federal Constitution in the near future for further advice and instructions. “The police remain committed to ensuring that transparency and integrity in investigations are always prioritised to guarantee justice, and will not compromise with any individual found to have violated the laws currently in force," he said in a statement on Wednesday .

The public is advised not to make any speculation regarding the case that could potentially affect or interfere with the investigation process. Earlier, the MACC chief confirmed that he had given his statement to Bukit Aman, with the statement session taking around two hours.
