PETALING JAYA: Leave for policemen nationwide has been frozen, Bukit Aman confirms.
Following a circular stating that all leave had been frozen, Bukit Aman Management director Comm Datuk Zaini Jass confirmed the matter. No time frame was given on how long the freeze would last.It is learnt that Ops Aman is generally a large-scale operation to maintain peace in the event of a massive gathering or rally.
Asked whether the leave freeze was connected to a planned rally for Aug 21, Comm Zaini brushed aside the speculation, saying it was just a"normal process". Following the Keluar dan #Lawan protest on July 31, the youth coalition - Sekretariat Solidariti Rakyat - said a second much larger rally would be held on Aug 21 if Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin remains as Prime Minister.
