KUALA LUMPUR: PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s interview with the police has been postponed, says Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Huzir Mohamed.
The police had initially called up the Port Dickson MP for questioning at 11am yesterday in connection with police reports lodged against him over a list of MPs who were allegedly supporting his bid for the prime minister’s post.“We then postponed the recording of his statement to a later date, ” he said in a statement yesterday.
“We are investigating the case under Section 505 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communication and Multimedia Act 1998, ” he added. Anwar dropped the bombshell on Sept 23, days before the Sabah state election on Sept 26, where he claimed to have a strong, formidable and convincing majority to form the next government.
