Over 3,000 community members and congregants packed the pews, classrooms and hallways of Highland Park Presbyterian Church on Wednesday afternoon to mourn the church’s 44-year-old senior pastor.died Oct. 26 of natural causes, the church said, after leading the church for nine years. He left behind his wife and three young children.At Dunagan’s memorial service, his wife, close friends, church staff and area pastors remembered the Dallas native as humble, kind, athletic and God-loving.
Dunagan previously served as the teaching pastor at Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Ga., where he was part of growing the involvement of younger generations and increasing participation in weekly worship.Dunagan also worked at Presbyterian congregations in California, Houston and Washington state.
