The Browns’ newest receiver is just the latest player who’s excited to pick Cooper’s brain about the technical aspects of the game.
He’s built up the reputation of a calculated and methodical route runner, one particularly renowned for his double moves and his availability; more of a lead-by-example guy, rather than a bombastic vocal leader. He’s made four Pro Bowls in his career and has 1,000-plus receiving yards in six of his eight seasons.
Moore has already made off-the-field headlines several times in his young career, including last season with the Jets in Week 6, when he was so mad that he got no targets in a win over the Packers, that he shouted some expletives at offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur and asked to be traded -- a request that was denied.
“Yeah, man, that’s probably -- I’m most excited about that and Deshaun ,” he said. “Being in a room with a vet, someone who understands this and not just football, but life. I’m just eager to pick his brain.” In the Browns’ offense, Moore also should fill the role of speedy receiver that the Browns have been lacking. Moore said he’s always been pretty fast growing up, but considering there were so many fast players in Florida, his attention to detail with his routes is how he’s tried to set himself apart.“I feel like that’s why they brought me here,” Moore said. “I feel like I’m more than just speed, but that’s definitely a huge part of my game.
