Sierra Canyon and Bronny James will be competing with a new-look roster this upcoming 2022-23 season.

Support our high school sports coverage by becoming a digital subscriber.Sierra Canyon boys basketball players Mike Price, Trentyn Flowers, Malik Rasul and Tim Rudovsky are expected to transfer out of the school this summer. It means the roster will look much different this upcoming season, which will be highlighted by senior-to-be Bronny James, the son of LeBron James.

Of the four players transferring out, Price is the biggest loss. The 4-star guard averaged 9.4 points, 2.3 assists and 1.4 steals in 24 games last season. Rasul , a 6-foot-7 forward, played in just six games due to injury and Rudovsky averaged 3.9 points per game in 15 games. The team graduated a talented crop of seniors this past May in Amari Bailey , Kijani Wright , Ramel Lloyd Jr. , Shy Odom , Evan Manjikian and Jeremiah Nyarko. As of now, Bronny, who has developed into a savvy, floor general with a consistent 3-point shot for Sierra Canyon will be the leader of the Trailblazers this coming winter.

Elohim, a 5-star recruit, will be the team’s go-to player after averaging 10.2 points per game his sophomore season. Metoyer – a four-year varsity player – will add veteran play and poise, but Sierra Canyon will need more fire power to contend for a Mission League title, let alone a CIF Southern Section Open Division title.
