Crews from Fox NFL Sunday, ESPN, local stations have all descended on Perry High since its most famous alum Brock Purdy has taken off with the 49ers.
on Sunday in the NFC title game,"It's going to be madness here," Perry football coach Joseph Ortiz said.
Ortiz said there will be a viewing party on Sunday to see if Purdy can come home with a chance to be a Super Bowl hero.Past and present Perry players are being interviewed, along with former and current coaches. Preston Jones, who was Purdy's coach during Perry's greatest seasons on the football field, has been the No. 1 request. Jones stepped down as head coach after the 2021 season.
"Every teacher we've had are kind of asking about him," Amer said."We talk to the teachers, we talk to each other about how exciting it is, how excited we are to watch him on on Sunday. We're hoping he keeps going, keeps playing."Perry is doing everything short of holding a pep rally for Brock.
