Marchers in Phoenix's Martin Luther King Jr. Day march on Monday received a special surprise. They were joined by Mercury star Brittney Griner.
Brittney Griner joined the participants in the MLK Day march in downtown Phoenix.after a prisoner swap for Viktor Bout, a Russian arms dealer, last month, rode in a golf cart with her wife, Cherelle, during the march, and spent time interacting with other marchers and people at the event.'We have to continue his legacy': Hundreds march in downtown Phoenix and Mesa on MLK Day
The march in downtown Phoenix stretched from Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church to Margaret T. Hance Park, a 2-mile course. The rain didn't appear to dampen the spirits of Griner or others who came to participate in the march, judging by posts on social media.
