Laundrie has been missing for over a month and law enforcement officials have continued to search the Carlton Reserve for any evidence.
users also pointed out that the photos appeared to show that the Pasco Sheriff's Office was involved in the search on Thursday., a spokesperson for the Pasco Sheriff's Office confirmed that deputies from that office were at the Carlton Reserve and said,"Authorities in that area have requested the assistance of PSO's human remains detection K9s."
"As PSO is one of the only law enforcement agencies in Florida that has HRD K9s within our K9 unit, we're often requested to assist other agencies across the state," the statement continued. The addition of a human remains detecting dog in the search for Laundrie came as he has been missing for more than a month. Laundrie's parents told law enforcement that they last saw their son - who is the sole person of interest in the disappearance and death of Gabby Petito - on September 14 and they believed he went on a hike in the Carlton Reserve.
Laundrie returned to his parent's home in North Port, Florida 10 days before Petito was reported missing. Petito's remains were eventually found near Wyoming's Gran Teton National Park on September 19. Earlier this week, the Teton County Coroner's office announced that Petito died by manual strangulation but did not offer any information on a possible suspect. Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue also noted that it is believed that Petito was killed three to four weeks before her body was found.
