Screen Rant presents an exclusive PrisonersDaughter clip and poster, spotlighting Succession star Brian Cox as a father seeking forgiveness for his past wrongs:
Emmy winner Brian Cox is the troubled patriarch of a very different kind of family in Prisoner's Daughter. Cox stars as Max, a convict granted a compassionate release after 12 years in prison when he's diagnosed with terminal cancer, though must live with his estranged daughter and works hard to reconcile with her in the hopes of being a part of her and her son's life, while also escaping the demons of his past.
As it gears up for its wide release, Screen Rant can exclusively present a new Prisoner's Daughter clip and first poster. The clip sees the Succession alum emotionally pleading to his daughter, Kate Beckinsale's Maxine, to allow him a chance to earn her forgiveness for his mistakes, and to accept money from him, assuring it's not from an illegal source.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Everything We Know About Prisoner's Daughter While Cox may be fresh in audiences' minds with Succession's final season, he's not the only major name leading the cast of Prisoner's Daughter.
In addition to its star-studded cast, Prisoner's Daughter has celebrated talent in the director's chair with Catherine Hardwicke. Having made a name for herself with the likes of Thirteen, Lords of Dogtown, and the first Twilight movie, the upcoming family drama marks one of two major releases from Hardwicke in the director's chair after only helming segments of movie and TV anthologies.
Going into its theatrical release, Prisoner's Daughter has already seen some early responses with its premiere at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, where critics largely commended the performances of its star-studded cast and Hardwicke's emotional direction regardless of mixed perceptions surrounding the tone of its screenplay. It will be interesting to see what audiences have to say when Prisoner's Daughter hits theaters on June 30.
