Governors from the 19 northern states are currently meeting in Kaduna in response to escalating insecurity and persistent power outages affecting the region.
Speaking at the meeting, the chairman of the Northern Governors Forum and Gombe State Governor, Inuwa Yahaya, reiterated the critical need for a strategic overhaul in the fight against insecurity and called for the integration of both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches to address the root causes of violence and criminality.
Yahaya noted, “The essence of the meeting is to review strategies for tackling insecurity and to explore alternative options that have not been previously considered.” Already, northerners on X are trending the hashtag #EnoughisEnough to call the attention of the government over the electricity situation.
