A 14-year-old boy tragically drowned while on a day trip to a lake with his school friends near Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The incident occurred when two boys, Adi Iskandar Abdullah and Hazwi Danial A. Rashid, both aged 14, began to struggle in the water. While one boy was rescued and given CPR by his friends, the other drowned and was later recovered from the lake.
KOTA KINABALU: A day out with friends took a tragic turn when a 14-year-old boy drowned in a 4-metre-deep lake near here.
Lintas Fire Station chief Agustavia Joe Guasi reported that a group of over 20 students from SMK Tebobon were on a day trip to the lake. “Adi was rescued when his friends found him and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on him while waiting for medical assistance to arrive,” she said in a statement.Firefighters received a distress call at around 12.44pm and a team was dispatched to the scene.
