The Matildas will take on either England, Denmark or China in the knockout stages with the match scheduled for next Monday night, which will be live and free on Seven and 7plus.“It was a fantastic performance against the Olympic gold medallists in Canada, and they bought themselves a ticket next week in Sydney which is so exciting, for the tournament and for the Matildas as well,” she told Sunrise on Tuesday morning.
“I think the first thing was it was a do or die game, there were no second chances, so they had to get a result of this game. “We saw some unconvincing performances against Nigeria and Ireland in the first two games, so Canada was a must win and it was where everything needed to click and come together.
“What we saw from the Matildas was a really good, complete performance, and disciplined performance as well, and they got four goals in the end which speaks to how critical they were in the final third.”
