Despite four new wide releases this weekend, Disney's 'Captain Marvel' maintained the top spot at the box office for the second weekend in a row.
The supercharged superhero film added $69.3 million in domestic receipts for a cumulative $266.2 million, according to estimates from measurement firm Comscore. That makes it the biggest second weekend of any 2019 release thus far.Internationally, the movie earned $119.7 million this weekend for a worldwide cumulative of $760 million.opened with $16 million.
In fourth place, Universal's"How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World" added $9.3 million in its fourth weekend for a cumulative $135.6 million. It has grossed $466.5 million worldwide. Also new this week, the studio's Spanish-language"No Manches Frida 2" debuted at No. 6 with $3.9 million in just 472 locations for a per-screen average of $8,250.
