KUCHING, June 22 ― Kota Samarahan will be the location of Borneo’s first major data centre.

“The time has come for us to further explore the potential for Sarawak by tapping into the positive outlook of the domestic data centre industry and the rising demand for cloud services in the region,” TSG Group group chief executive officer Datuk Chris Chung said during the new consortium’s launch last night.

He said the district aims to implement a circular economy and produce green energy from each household that can be channelled back to the electricity grid.
