Keputusan awal pilihan raya setakat ini menunjukkan Parti Konservatif pimpinan Johnson menang 364 kerusi iaitu jumlah tertinggi sejak zaman kegemilangan Margaret Thatcher pada 1980-an. Sebaliknya, pembangkang utama, Parti Buruh kalah teruk apabila hilang 59 kerusi seterusnya memaksa pemimpinnya Jeremy Corbyn mengumumkan peletakan jawatannya.
Parti Liberal Demokrat yang anti-Brexit turut mengumumkan menggantikan pemimpinnya Jo Swinson yang hilang kerusinya di Scotland kepada Parti Kebangsaan Scotland .
