This is the belief of former national men’s doubles shuttler Tan Boon Heong in the wake of national singles coaching director Wong Choong Hann’s shock resignation on Thursday. His decision comes a little over a month after Academy Badminton Malaysia chief executive officer Michelle Chai tendered her resignation and high performance director Dr Tim Jones was sacked.
“He has been there for five years and there have been some good results but overall, there is a lot of room for improvement.“Change is better than no change. On who he believed was the best candidate to replace Choong Hann, Boon Heong replied: “No doubt that it’s Datuk Lee Chong Wei.Former men’s singles legend Chong Wei and Boon Heong are both part of ABM’s technical advisory panel.
