MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered the creation of an inter-agency task force for the commemoration of the Philippines’ 125th Independence Day. According to the Palace, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines will be the chair of the task force while the Department of the Interior and Local Government will be the vice-chair.“In order to facilitate the planning and execution of programs and projects for the commemoration of the 125th Anniversary of Philippine Independence and Nationhood, an Inter-Agency Committee is hereby constituted,” states Administrative Order No. 8 released to the media late Wednesday night.
The AO also says that other government agencies will serve as members of the task force, namely the Departments of Tourism, Education, National Defense, Information and Communications Technology, Trade and Industry, Budget and Management, Labor and Employment, and Transportation, and the Metro Manila Development Authority.
