that the Tamaqua Borough Policce and Fire Department responded to a brush fire around 10 p.m. on Wednesday night, in the Dutch Hill section of Tamaqua.
In a news release from the police department, they said they were informed around 10:15 p.m. by the fire department that what appeared to be a homemade explosive was discovered while they were clearing the fire. The police then said an agent from the FBI and the Allentown State Police Bomb Squad were both called in for assistance, and the bomb was safely detonated around midnight after the area had been cleared.
