A neighborhood in San Marcos is under a boil notice due to a water main break.
The water supply company expects to test several samples at a Texas State University lab in hopes of rescinding the notice. While Maxwell SUD issued the boil water notice, officials with the water supply company told KVUE the water main is owned and operated by Sun Communities, which is the one in charge of making repairs.
Maxwell also said the boil water notice was issued after it became obvious that service was disrupted and that the criteria to trigger the notice was met. Maxwell expects to test several samples at a Texas State University lab on Tuesday in hopes of rescinding the notice. "This is solely a private issue between a landlord and their tenants," General Manager Justin Ivicic told KVUE in a statement."Maxwell has no authority or responsibility to issue or make repairs on private property. We did what we felt was best by ordering the notice.
