UPDATE | There were no signs of foul play in the death of a man whose body was discovered Tuesday in a field near the Wishing Well Motel in Whiteland, the Johnson County Coroner says.
WHITELAND —The Johnson County Coroner's Office says it's investigating after a dead body was found Tuesday in a field near a motel.
The deceased male was discovered about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, near the Wishing Well Motel, 511 S. U.S. Highway 31, according to Johnson County Coroner Mike Pruitt. The decedent was identified as Dennis Brown, 39, of Whiteland, Pruitt said Wednesday, adding that there were no signs indicating foul play. However, the cause of Brown's death has not yet been determined. It will be determined once toxicology results are complete, which could take up to three weeks, Pruitt said.Pruitt asked that anyone with more information contact the Whiteland Police Department at 317-535-8100 or the coroner's office at 317-738-6031.
