PETALING JAYA: Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) hari ini mengumumkan langkah-langkah interim bagi menangani isu kenaikan mendadak premium produk insurans/takaful perubatan dan kesihatan (MHIT).

“Selain itu, bagi pemegang polisi yang berumur 60 tahun ke atas dan dilindungi di bawah pelan minimum bagi produk MHIT yang dibeli, ITO akan menangguhkan pelarasan premium yang disebabkan oleh inflasi tuntutan perubatan untuk sementara waktu, iaitu selama satu tahun dari ulang tahun polisi mereka,” katanya.
Keempat, semua ITO akan menyediakan produk MHIT alternatif yang bersesuaian pada premium yang sama, atau lebih rendah bagi pemegang polisi yang tidak berminat untuk meneruskan pelan MHIT mereka yang sedia ada dan yang premiumnya telah ditetapkan semula. BNM menambah, kerajaan bersama-sama dengan ITO dan hospital swasta akan memberikan sumbangan sebanyak RM60 juta untuk mempercepat pembaharuan kesihatan.
